Wednesday:
A Green Green Garden by Mercer Meyer
(guest reader: Miss Tiffany from the Puppy Pals. Thank you Miss Tiffany for reading to us today!)
Story Comprehension Questions:
- Who planted a garden?
- Who ate some of the garden at night?
- What did the family buy at the garden store?
- What did Little Critter need after he planted his garden? (tricky one!)
- After the seeds were planted, what did the family need to do to each plant?
- Where does the family go to buy things for their garden?
Journal Prompt Idea:
Since the activity for yesterday on the BECC “plants and flowers” weekly activity guide was a journaling activity, no extra journal prompt today!
Today’s extra activity is to go outside and have some fun!
- See if you can find something outside that was mentioned in the story.
- If you have the supplies, try planting something at your house. (If you already have a garden planted at your house, send us a picture. We’d love to see it!)
- Talk to someone in your family about what you would plant if you had a garden.
- Talk to someone in your family about your favorite vegetables.
- Record a video message asking me a question about plants, gardening, vegetables, flowers, etc. and I will send you a video message reply!
Virtual "Playdate" Thursday May 14
We miss all of our school friends! We would like to coordinate virtual “playdates” so we can see and talk to our friends in a fun way. We will be meeting on Google Hangouts next week. We will be meeting for 10-15 minutes in small groups. If you are not able to meet on that day, there will be additional opportunities for playdates.
Please make sure Google Hangouts is set this up prior to your time. If you have not used Google Hangouts before, you may need to download the app on your device or make sure it is set up on your computer. You will receive an email for your day and time of the virtual email via email from me by Monday. At the time stated on your email, click on the link to join.
Hope to see you on Thursday!
