Wednesday May 20 (Animal Books)

Animal Stories This Week:

Since there are so many great stories about animals, Miss Lisa,  Miss Katelin, and Miss Lauren were all very excited to read one this week! Take a look at what your options are for today and make a choice of which one you’d like to listen to. When you’re done, try answering some questions about the book and completing the journal activity. Enjoy!

Story: “Curious George Makes A Pizza”

Story Comprehension Questions:
- Who wanted to go out for pizza?
- Who made a mess with pizza dough?
- Who climbed over the fence to deliver the pizza?
- What landed on top of Tony’s head?
- What did Tony spread onto the pizza dough?
- What did Tony make for George and the Man in the Yellow hat at the end of the story?
- Where did Tony the pizza man need to deliver the pizza to?
- Where did George hide?
BONUS: How did Tony feel when George was throwing pizza dough around and making a mess?

Journal Prompt Idea:
- If you were a pizza chef, what kind of pizza would you make?
- Draw a picture of your pizza (you can draw yourself too if you want)
- Try writing some of the sounds you hear in your pizza topping words

Story: “Who Will Be My Pet?”

- Who knocked on the little boy’s door?
- What animal did the little boy get for free from the basket?

Journal Prompt Idea:
If you could have any animal as a pet, what animal would you choose?

  • Draw a picture of the animal
  • Trying writing some of the letters that you hear in the animal’s name!

Story: “Where Bear?”

Story Comprehension Questions:
- Who did the bear live with when he was a bear cub? 
- Who were best friends?
- What did the bear and the boy use to talk to each other?
- Where did the bear NOT want to live? (Can you remember more than 1 place?)
- Where did the bear want to live?
BONUS QUESTION: Why did the bear have to move out of the house?
BONUS: What made the bear excited to live in the arctic? 

Journal Prompt Idea:
If you were a bear, where would you want to live?
  • Draw a picture of your “bear home”
  • Tell a family member why you’d want to live in the place you chose.
