Thursday June 11

Thursday

Hope everyone has been having fun with this week's activities so far! Check out what we have for today!

1. Congratulations you completed all the Letterland activities:

Take time to sing and dance! Celebrate by singing this catchy song:

2. “Insect Hunt” _(ELA)

Print out the Letter Insect page below.  Help your child cut out the Letter Insects.  Then place the Letter Insects around your house and have your child find the Insects.  After they find them, encourage them to say the letter and if they can say the sound.  For extra fun, if you have a fly swatter at home, place the Letter Insects on the floor.  You can say a letter and then they can “swat” the letter.  You may have to reduce the field of the letters your child needs to scan to find the letters.  Start with 5-10 letters to look at.

3. Insect Scavenger Hunt- (Math)

Go Outside and Explore the Insects you see in your backyard:

-Use this template below or go outside and make your own recording sheet.  How many different kinds of insects can you find?

-Make observations with your child. (ie: “We saw 2 butterflies and 4 bees.  We saw more bees than butterflies.”)
